Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, will alongside his wife, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, Don Jazzy, Dele Momodu,
Yvonne Nelson amongst other well known celebrities bag the Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador award on 31st of October, 2013. A release by the organizers of the award shows that John Okafor a.k.a Mr. Ibu, Egor Efiok, Oluchi Orlandi, Edem Duke will also get awards in an award dinner that will take place at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja. This event is organized by GOODWILL AMBASSADORS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION in partnership with CYBERNET MICROSYSTEMS LTD. The Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador Awards is an honorary award ceremony to honour and celebrate individuals and organizations who are involved in different humanitarian fields with selfless service to humanity and projecting Nigerian image positively worldwide. It is designed to honour Goodwill Stakeholders of Great Virtue, Good Works and Selfless Service to Humanity with Dr Mrs. Merit Gordon Obua as Chief Host.
These are people who contributed immensely to societal transformation, that promote Youth Development, create awareness and advocate on Human Rights Causes such as: Child Trafficking/ Abuses, Gender Equality, Children Rights, Girl Child Education, Empowerment Programmes, Rehabilitation Centres, Breast Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Free Medical checkup and treatment, taking care of the Orphans and rendering needed help to the less fortunate in our society.
This maiden edition is slated for Thursday 31st, October 2013, at the Sheraton Hotel Abuja, by 6pm with top celebrities such as Eefy, Mo Abudu, Yvonne Nelson, Oluchi, Julius Agwu, Isabella Ayuk, Don Jazzy, Joseph Benjamin and a host of other celebrities to grace the event and as recipients of Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador Awards. 
NGAA 2013 will welcome His Excellency, Godswill Akpabio as the Grand Patron, Dr. Mrs. Merit Gordon Obua as the Chief Host and Obong Ini Akpabio as the Patron of the event. The event will also feature TOP CELEBRITIES ON THE RUNWAY CHARITY FASHION SHOW and live performance by Mish, Nigerian Tenors, Fred Bright, Chuks d General, Sparrow and host of others.
